Unrestricted annual support is the most significant
factor in the success of any school. It provides the resources that
are critical to the ability of a school to move quickly to stay
ahead of economic trends, meet unanticipated and urgent needs, and
to exploit fast-developing, instant opportunities to build
competitive value.
The Darden Annual Fund is the most effective way for most
contributors to have an immediate impact upon the school. The
graduating classes of 1998, 1999, and 2000 have given the school
momentum with an average participation rate in their class gift that
exceeds 99 percent. The Class of '99 is the only class in higher
education ever to achieve 100 percent participation. As Darden marks
its 50th anniversary, the school seeks to set a new
standard-to achieve, the highest percentage of alumni
participation of any graduate business school in the world.
