Biography

An expert on accounting and financial reporting and management, Professor Brownlee teaches numerous courses in Darden’s MBA and Executive Education programs. He also serves as co-leader of the Darden Batten Institute's initiative on innovation and sustainable business.

He was formerly associated with Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. and has served as a consultant to The Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts and to various businesses.Prior to joining the Darden faculty in 1975, Brownlee taught at Ohio University, the University of Northern Iowa, and Georgia State University.

Brownlee has co-authored several books on accounting and financial reporting, and written dozens of cases and teaching notes. He has received awards for both his teaching and research.
