Professor of Business Administration Mark E. Haskins has taught First Year Accounting, International Financial Reporting, and Ethics in the Darden School's MBA program. In addition to teaching MBA courses, he has designed and delivered executive education programs for such clients as IBM, INTELSAT, MCI, Coopers & Lybrand, Aetna Insurance, Norfolk Southern Railroad, AES Corporation, Rolls Royce NA, Harris Corporation, and the U.S. Navy. Professor Haskins has taught executives in the United Kingdom, Belgium, Thailand, Australia, Hong Kong, and the United States. He has published articles in numerous practitioner and academic business journals. He is coauthor of four textbooks, coeditor of the CFO Handbook (McGraw-Hill Publishing), and coauthor of the newly published Teaching Management: A Field Guide for Professors, Consultants and Corporate Trainers (Cambridge University Press). His current writing interests focus on a variety of issues pertaining to financial reporting (e.g., "Calling all Parties: Now is the Time to Come to the Aid of the Balance Sheet," [with R. Sack], Business Horizons) and crafting effective learning environments (e.g., "Making it Sticky: How to Facilitate the Transfer of Executive Education Experiences Back to the Workplace," [with J. Clawson], Journal of Management Development).
Professor Haskins has served on the University of Virginia faculty senate and on the American Accounting Association's Executive Committee. He has also led the Darden School committee responsible for the design and delivery of the first year MBA program.
Early in his professional career, Professor Haskins worked for the international accounting firm of Arthur Young & Co.
