Biography
June West is an Assistant Professor of Business Administration at the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration and the Academic Director for the University of Virginia Partnership for Leaders in Education. Dr. West teaches First-Year management communication in the MBA program at Darden and second-year electives in special topics in organizational communication. She also serves on the faculties of the Curry School of Education and the Secretary of Defense Corporate Fellows Program and is an active member of the teaching faculty in Darden’s Executive Education Program particularly in the Gulf Executive Development Program. Her research interests focus on communication practices of companies during and after mergers and acquisitions and the role of communication in corporate strategic policy.
Prior to joining the Darden faculty, Dr. West was the acting director of the Philip Rauch Center for Business Communication at Lehigh University, clinical professor at the Stern Graduate School of Business at New York University and assistant professor in the Master of Arts Program in Corporate and Public Communication at Seton Hall University. Prior to her academic career she was the senior editor of the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation in Cleveland, Editor of The Tennessee Survey of Business, and Research Editor at Lehigh University.
Dr. West’s corporate clients have included AT&T; the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance; Bled International Executive Development Center, Slovenia; IBM; Digital Equipment; Binney & Smith, a division of Hallmark; Pennsylvania Power & Light; Occidental Chemical Corporation; and the Office of the Secretary of Defense. She earned her B.S at The University of Tennessee, her M.Ed. from Kent State University, and her Ed.D. from Lehigh University.
