Celebrating Their Commitment
Imagine working for the same organization for 20 years. How about 25 or even 30? Several Darden School of Business employees were recognized Monday at the Length of Service Awards Ceremony where five people were celebrating their 20th, 25th, or 30th employment anniversaries.
“What a wonderful commitment to the Darden School and to all of our constituents,” said Dean Bob Bruner.
Bruner and Darden School Foundation CEO Ted Forbes (MBA’93) addressed employees in the Abbott Auditorium.
“Our constituents expect much from us at Darden,” Bruner told the group. “That means that we ask a great deal from you. I truly appreciate what you do here. I appreciate your effort and commitment.”
Over 30 Darden employees were honored Monday. Each individual celebrating 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, or 30 years of employment received a certificate and a gift.
“Darden is a unique place employment-wise,” said Forbes. “One indicator is the number of people who leave, for whatever reason, and then come back. We see that happen. For instance, an individual will leave to spend time at home with their children and they come back. It’s a great place to work with great people.”
After the award ceremony the Darden community attended a reception to celebrate all Darden employees.
Founded in 1955, the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business improves society by developing leaders in the world of practical affairs.
