Darden Faculty Recognized for Diversity

Martin DavidsonFour faculty members of the Darden School of Business have been named to Diversity MBA Magazine’s  list of the “Top 100 Under 50 Diverse Executive and Emerging Leaders.” The list will be published in the magazine’s August issue.

The four Darden faculty members are: Martin Davidson, associate dean and chief diversity officer; Erika Hayes James, Bank of America professor of research; Peter Rodriguez, associate dean of international affairs and director of the Tayloe Murphy International Center; and Gregory Fairchild, associate professor of business administration and executive director of the Tayloe Murphy Center Virginia.

“Engaging diversity is a key objective of the Darden strategy, which is why we are so delighted to be recognized by Diversity MBA Magazine,” said Davidson. “This is an important milestone in our Peter RodriguezGreg Fairchildongoing vision to be the best business school in the world at attracting, incorporating, and leveraging diverse perspectives.”

The magazine recognizes exceptional executives who are striving for and/or have reached success within the highly competitive corporate, government and entrepreneurial environments, as well as emerging leaders – the rising stars in their community and organizations.

The “Top 100 Under 50 Executive and Emerging Leaders” were selected based on their position within a publicly or privately held company, a successful entrepreneurial company, or nonprofit organization, the size of budget managed, scope of responsibility, community service work, and MBA and/or advanced degrees.

Erika James“We are especially proud to acknowledge a broad range of talent not only in America, but also across the globe,” said Pam McElvane, CEO and publisher of P&L Group, which publishes Diversity MBA Magazine. “Through this recognition we are providing acknowledgement of achievement, leadership development and creating a unique network of exceptionally talented individuals.”

Founded in 1955, the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business is a professional school that improves society by developing principled leaders for the world of practical affairs.
