The Charlottesville Community

International students are welcomed to Charlottesville with a special reception and orientation before classes begin. The Office of Student Affairs directs a program for incoming international students to cover important details about living and studying in the United States, and to help with relocation. The Darden Partners Association (DPA) offers support and social activities to make everyone feel welcome during their time in Charlottesville.

Recently ranked as the best place to live in the United States by USA Today, Charlottesville offers the amenities of a large city while maintaining the aesthetic charm of a small town that is comfortable, friendly, and easy-to-navigate. The city’s central East Coast location makes it easily accessible to other major cities such as Washington, D.C., and New York.
