adm lobbyMBA Admissions Interviews

An evaluative interview is conducted by invitation only after your application has been submitted and reviewed by the Admissions Committee. Interviews play a critical role in our assessment of candidates and are required prior to acceptance into the program. An invitation to interview is a positive indicator no matter when you receive it.

Candidates living in the U.S. must interview on the Darden Grounds with a member of the Admissions staff or Student Admissions Committee. Candidates living abroad are welcome to interview on the Darden Grounds, but are not expected to do so. International interviews are conducted by alumni or Admissions Committee members traveling overseas.

Applicants coming to Darden for an interview will have the opportunity to attend office hours with various departments, tour the Darden School with current students, and go to lunch with faculty members. More information about interview day activities will be sent to you after your interview is scheduled.

Our interviews are 30-45 minutes in length and your interviewer will not have read or reviewed your application or résumé. It is our policy to conduct blind interviews, so there is no need to send or bring in your résumé for the interview.

If you are a Consortium applicant and would like to request a Consortium interview at Darden, please email admissionscoordinator@darden.virginia.edu.

If you have any questions, please visit the Frequently Asked Questions webpage or email the Admissions Visitation Coordinator.
