Sustainability at Darden
I am pleased to serve as Darden’s Manager of Sustainability Programs, guiding our goals to be a zero waste, zero carbon enterprise by 2020, and a top ten school for teaching and research on sustainability by 2013. We think about sustainability in terms of How We Live and How We Learn, knowing that we best teach about sustainability when we are incorporating such practices into the School’s strategy and operations. Darden students have initiated many actions related to achieving our goals, including conducting a trash audit, creating a voluntary program to offset the carbon footprint of their MBA education, and producing the annual Sustainability and Renewable Energy Forum. Efforts small and large enhance Darden’s learning environment and engage our community. We look forward to being transparent about our progress, and sharing best practices with our academic and corporate partners. Please check back to our site for updates.
