The Institute for Business in Society convenes and partners on events and programs of broad impact to address critical issues related to business and society. Upcoming events and initiatives include: February, 2017University of Virginia Pay for Success and Social Impact Finance 2.0 Conference | 9-10 February 2017Hosted by the University of Virginia Pay for Success Lab in collaboration with the Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy, Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, Quantified Ventures, and Third Sector Capital Partners, the second annual Pay for Success and Social Impact Finance 2.0 Conference will take place 9-10 February 2017 at the Darden School of Business. The conference is a convening for representatives of local and state government, service providers, philanthropy, advocacy, and elsewhere who are interested in exploring whether Pay for Success (Social Impact Bonds) is a good fit for their communities. Attendees will gain exposure to questions such as "Why Pay for Success?" and topic areas such as impact evaluation and benefit-cost analysis. In addition, attendees will work through a case study based upon a policy solution for Washington, D.C. Institute for Business in Society Academic Director Mary Margaret Frank will present a session entitled, "Bringing It Together: Risks and Rewards" of pay for success and social impact finance. She will also lead a plenary case discussion with former Darden student, Andrea Barrios, now serving as Innovative Finance Analyst at The Rockefeller Foundation.This event is complimentary and open to the public, but registration is required.
