    February 2015

    P3 Impact Award Applications Open

    Concordia, the U.S. Department of State Secretary’s Office of Global Partnerships and the Institute for Business in Society (IBiS) will present the P3 Impact Award at the Concordia Summit in September 2015 in New York, New York, to recognize leading public-private partnerships that improve communities and the world. Applications will be accepted from 2 February through 30 April 2015 via the P3 Impact Award website.

    Economic Resilience Conference

    The Institute for Business in Society (IBiS) recognizes resilient businesses and communities in the Commonwealth of Virginia that are facing challenging economic conditions. This year’s initiatives include a Resilience in Business Conference taking place 6 March 2015 and a corresponding Resilience in Business Report to be released at the event.

    Global Partnerships Week

    The Institute for Business in Society (IBiS) is partnering with the U.S. Department of State Secretary’s Office of Global Partnerships, Concordia, and USAID to launch Global Partnerships Week during the week of 9-15 March 2015. Global Partnerships Week recognizes the critical role that public-private partnerships play in promoting diplomacy and development around the world. The week will begin on 9 March 2015 with a summit in Washington, D.C., and include a series of local, national and global events and activities throughout the week.

    Impact Business Leaders (IBL)
    Are you looking for a way to use your business skills to make a tangible difference in the world? Impact Business Leaders (IBL) provides career opportunities for professionals looking to develop business solutions that solve major global challenges. IBL is partnering with the Institute for Business in Society (IBiS) and the Batten Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business to offer a new two-week training course on social enterprise and impact investing.

    Business in Society Conference

    The Darden Business in Society Conference is an annual event co-organized by the student-led Net Impact, Energy, Business & Public Policy, Healthcare, Education, and Emerging Markets Development clubs, with support from the Institute for Business in Society (IBiS). To be held on 20 March 2015, the Darden Business in Society conference will bring together a diverse audience of students, community members and business leaders to discuss the role of business in providing lasting value in an increasingly complex global society. An address will be delivered by Special Representative for Global Partnerships Andrew O’Brien of the U.S. Department of State Secretary’s Office of Global Partnerships.
