She oversees Darden’s student-led job treks and serves as the Career Development Center advisor to a number of student organizations including Health Care, Retail & Luxury Goods, Graduate Women in Business, and Business Design. Her main responsibilities include program and resource development, individual career counseling and group instruction in career search strategies for the U.S. and abroad. Denise also focuses on developing recruiting opportunities with international and multinational companies for the entire Darden student body and with U.S. companies for the international students. In addition, Denise provides career support for minority students, works with companies on diversity recruiting and is actively involved in the major diversity conferences. Reid has over seven years of experience in financial services, marketing, and operations. Most recently at YB MoneySpot, a financial technology startup, Reid was Vice President of Market Strategy, overseeing marketing plans, investor relations, and vendor relationship. Reid also worked in marketing and research at Latinum Network where he managed operations and business intelligence. Immediately after Darden, Reid spent four years at BB&T bank in a Leadership Development Program where he focused on financial management, commercial lending and retail banking and oversaw a multicultural initiative, which brought in new retail business for Hispanic clients. Before business school he managed a manufacturing facility in Monterrey, Mexico. Reid is a graduate of Washington & Lee University with a BA in Spanish and has an MBA from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia. He started his career as a clinical psychologist, earned a doctorate in Organizational Behavior, and spent the next 21+ years in executive and consulting positions in the area of education, training, and talent management. For the past six years, he’s dedicated his career to assisting others who are facing transitions with theirs. In that role he has served as a career coach, seminar facilitator, and expert resource for some 2,000 clients ranging from supervisors to CEO’s.
