“Companies like Amazon are diversified. We can call them ‘tech,’ but they can also be retail companies, tremendous transportation and logistics companies. They offer jobs in a wide variety of roles and functions.”

Darden’s Recruiting Events

  • Company Information Sessions (Briefings)

Briefings are formal, 45-minute presentations and Q&As at Darden, giving students the opportunities to network with companies, discuss corporate culture and explore opportunities.

  • Office Hours or Coffee Chats

These events are less formal opportunities for a handful of students to connect with company representatives at Darden.

  • Networking Receptions

Students and companies network in a casual setting during networking receptions. These events take place in Darden’s PepsiCo Forum.

  • Darden Career Fairs

These Charlottesville-based recruiting events allow students to get to know organizations before diving-deep over the course of the fall.

  • Job Treks

During job treks, students visit corporate headquarters, experience company culture first-hand and meet with colleagues. Popular job treks include Week on Wall Street and the Bay Area Tech Trek. Job trek visits typically occur during Darden School breaks (i.e., Dedicated Recruiting Days, mid-December, early January), the exceptions being locations close to Charlottesville (DC-metro, Richmond, Charlotte) where day-long trips are feasible.

  • MBA Career Fairs

Darden students and staff typically attend the following career fairs and conferences:

  • Virtual Recruiting Events

Virtual information sessions, coffee chats and interviews can be coordinated using our state of the art media-enabled interview rooms or classrooms. Scheduled based on request.

  • Student Club Events

Darden’s student clubs often hold recruiting events such as networking receptions, dinners, lunch and learns, case competitions and more.

  • Workshops and Case Competitions

Workshops at Darden provide companies an educational opportunity to deliver specific content to students about their business. During case competitions, student participants strive to develop the best solution to a business- or education-related case study within an allocated time frame. Results in the awarding of scholarships, internship and/or interview prizes, etc.

  • MBA Interview Forums

During interview forums, Darden partners with other top MBA schools to provide companies with a convenient way to interview MBA candidates from multiple schools at one event for just-in-time hiring needs.
