Resilience, Nation Building and the Global Economy

DWC Vietnam exposes Darden students to Vietnamese culture and business perspectives which are deeply influenced by tradition and history. Students will witness how a variety of companies organize their business models and will consider how Vietnamese heritage can serve as both a constraint and a competitive advantage. Such insights will be developed through meetings with entrepreneurs, established businesses, and professional organizations across Vietnam.

In this course, students will explore:

• How Vietnamese businesses compete globally
• Vietnamese perspectives on business and leadership and its historical relationship with the United States
• Vietnam’s growing economic and geopolitical relevance in Southeast Asia
• The impact of war and peace on the economic development of a country and region
• Personal development as a global leader
