    December

    • December 13: Round 1 merit scholarship decisions are mailed to recipients.

    February

    • February 16: Round 1 deposit deadline.

    March

    • Mid-March: The University of Virginia Financial Aid Application (UFAA) becomes available in the Student Information System (SIS).
    • March 21: Round 2 merit scholarship decisions are mailed to recipients.

    April

    • April 15: Recommended date to have completed filing the FAFSA and UFAA to apply for federal loans. (Please note that this is not a hard deadline for applying for financial aid.)

    May

    • May 1: Round 2 deposit deadline.
    • May 9: Round 3 merit scholarship decisions are mailed to recipients.

    June

    • June 1: Round 3 deposit deadline and final deposit deadline for Rounds 1 and 2.
    • Mid-June: Financial aid award notifications begin to be made available in the SIS. There is no physical financial aid letter sent. Students are notified via their UVA email address when their package is available.

    July

    • July 1: Recommended date for students applying for private student loans to have completed their loan applications.
    • Mid-July: Fall semester bills are made available in the SIS. There is no physical bill sent. Students are notified via their UVA email address when bills are available.
    • July 31: Recommended date to have finalized accepting/declining the financial aid package in order to have financial aid in place by the bill due date.

    August

    • August 1: Students should update their current mailing addresses and set up Direct Deposit in the SIS to receive their loan refunds for living expenses at their Charlottesville addresses.
    • Mid-August: Fall semester bills are typically due a week prior to the first day of Orientation. Fall semester loans and scholarships will disburse to students' accounts two days prior to this date.
    • Late August: Loan refunds for living expenses are mailed to students' current mailing addresses in the SIS (or direct-deposited if set up in time) after the bill due date.
