    The Darden School shapes entrepreneurial and responsible global leaders who, in turn, shape the world.

    In the Commonwealth of Virginia

    • Darden and the i.Lab at UVA are key cogs in a thriving local entrepreneurial ecosystem that led Entrepreneur magazine to name Charlottesville, Virginia, No. 4 on its list of the 50 best cities for entrepreneurs
    • Darden’s Institute for Business in Society each year celebrates the Tayloe Murphy Resilience Awards to support entrepreneurs who are making a difference in communities of the Commonwealth.

    • Save the Children CEO Carolyn Miles (MBA ’88) helps children in need and provides them with hope for a better life. 
    • Jean-Marie Menga (Class of 2016) is developing infrastructure in Cameroon, including bringing school buses to his hometown so children don't have to walk miles to school.
    • Neofect founder Hoyoung Ban (MBA' 11) developed a high tech stroke rehabilitation glove through his South Korean startup after witnessing family members suffer from strokes.
    • Karen Yelick (MBA '81) is CEO of Indego Africa, a nonprofit that partners with Rwandan women artisans to sell their handmade products in the United States.
    • Darden's Center for Global Initiatives increases the visibility and influence of Darden around the world with globally focused academic and student life programming.
