For U.S. Positions International students on F-1 status are authorized to work in the United States for summer internships by using Curricular Practical Training (CPT), and one-year of full-time employment after graduation by using Optional Practical Training (OPT). Employment authorization, with company H-1B visa sponsorship, is possible for up to six additional years without gaps in employment. The H-1B visa petition process does not require proving there is no U.S. candidate that qualifies for the position.
