University of Virginia Investing Conference

  • The eighth annual UVIC will be held 12-13 November 2015.

    The University of Virginia Investing Conference (UVIC), which is held annually at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business, is a highly anticipated event on Grounds that attracts significant interest from investors, investment managers, analysts, industry professionals, students and faculty.

    The conference is hosted by the Richard A. Mayo Center for Asset Management, one of Darden’s 10 research Centers of Excellence. The center works to advance the study and practice of asset management through top-quality research, regular conferences and activities, support for the MBA student club Darden Capital Management and the development of educational programs.

    Each year, UVIC strives to assemble top-tier industry authorities from around the world who help investors find the best strategies to deliver positive returns while tempering risks. Experts on emerging markets, energy, health care the United States economy and technology have served as keynote speakers.

    Below is a list of some of the experts Darden has tapped to speak at UVIC in the past:

    • Sheila Bair, the former chair of the U.S. Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation 
    • Kyle Bass, founder of Hayman Capital Management LP
    • Joyce Chang, head of emerging markets for JP Morgan Securities
