    The University of Virginia Investing Conference (UVIC), which is held annually at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business, is a highly anticipated event on Grounds that attracts significant interest from investors, investment managers, analysts, industry professionals, students and faculty.

    The conference is hosted by the Richard A. Mayo Center for Asset Management, one of Darden’s 10 research Centers of Excellence. The center works to advance the study and practice of asset management through top-quality research, regular conferences and activities, support for the MBA student club Darden Capital Management, and the development of educational programs.

    University of Virginia Investing Conference

    The 9th Annual University of Virginia Investing Conference (UVIC), which will take place at UVA’s Darden School of Business 10-11 November 2016, will explore the current economic and political landscape, opportunities in a diverging global monetary setting and implications for investors and risk managers. The conference will provide the insights of financial analysts, portfolio managers, economists, and industry executives and attracts professional investment managers, financial officers, academics, students, private investors and industry executives as they seek to identify and analyze the way forward.

    Steven Rattner

     Rattner 

    Steven Rattner is Chairman of Willett Advisors LLC, which manages the personal and philanthropic investment assets of Michael R. Bloomberg. In addition, he is a Contributing Writer for the Op-Ed page of The New York Times and the Economic Analyst for MSNBC’s Morning Joe.

    Previously, Mr. Rattner served as Counselor to the Secretary of the Treasury and led the Obama Administration’s successful effort to restructure the automobile industry, which he chronicled in his book, Overhaul: An Insider’s Account of the Obama Administration’s Emergency Rescue of the Auto Industry.

    Until February 2009, Mr. Rattner was Managing Principal of Quadrangle Group LLC, a private investment firm that under his leadership, had more than $6 billion of assets under management. Before forming Quadrangle in 2000, Mr. Rattner was with Lazard Frères & Co., where he served as Deputy Chairman and Deputy Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Rattner joined Lazard Frères in 1989 as a General Partner from Morgan Stanley, where he was a Managing Director. Before beginning his investment banking career in 1982 with Lehman Brothers, Mr. Rattner was employed by The New York Times for nearly nine years, principally as an economic correspondent in New York, Washington and London. 

    Mr. Rattner has served as a board member or trustee of a number of public and philanthropic organizations including the Educational Broadcasting Corporation (Chairman), Metropolitan Museum of Art, Brown University (Fellow), Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City (Chairman), Brookings Institution and the New America Foundation.  He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. 

    Mr. Rattner graduated in 1974 from Brown University with honors in economics and was awarded the Harvey Baker Fellowship.  Mr. Rattner is married to Maureen White, who is a Senior Fellow at the John Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, and they have four children.

    Barry Sternlicht

    Barry Sternlicht is Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of Starwood Capital Group, the private investment firm he formed in 1991 that is focused on global real estate, hotel management, oil and gas, and energy infrastructure. Mr. Sternlicht also serves as Chairman of Starwood Property Trust (NYSE: STWD), the largest commercial mortgage REIT in the U.S.; TRI Pointe Homes (NYSE: TPH), one of the U.S.’s largest homebuilders; and French crystal maker Baccarat S.A.; as well as Co-Chairman of Colony Starwood Homes (NYSE: SFR), one of the largest publicly traded investors, owners and operators of single-family homes in the U.S.

    For the past 25 years, Mr. Sternlicht has structured investments with an asset value of approximately $77 billion. Starwood Capital’s funds have invested in approximately 141,000 multifamily/condo units, 2,600 hotels, 65 million square feet of office properties, 53 million square feet of retail and 50,000 lots of land in residential subdivisions. The Firm currently manages more than $51 billion of assets on behalf of its high net worth and institutional partners. Starwood Capital, its affiliates and externally managed public companies employ more than 2,200 professionals, while approximately 20,000 additional employees are involved with a dozen portfolio operating companies. The Firm maintains offices in Greenwich (headquarters), Atlanta, San Francisco, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, Chicago and Miami, and affiliated offices in London, Frankfurt and Hong Kong.

    From 1995 through early 2005, Mr. Sternlicht was Chairman and CEO of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide (NYSE: HOT), a company he founded in 1995. During his tenure, he built Starwood Hotels into one of the leading hotel and leisure companies in the world, employing more than 120,000 people with 895 properties in 100 countries. Mr. Sternlicht created W Hotels, perhaps the world’s most successful “boutique” brand, and built the St. Regis Hotels brand from a single hotel to a global brand.

    In 2008, Mr. Sternlicht founded SH Group, his new hotel management company. SH Group is the owner and manager of Baccarat Hotels & Resorts and 1 Hotels brands.

    In 2015, Mr. Sternlicht was named the Global Industry Figure of the Year by PERE, received the Cornell Icon of the Industry Award and the Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Hotel Investment Forum. In 2013, Mr. Sternlicht was named the Most Important Person in Commercial Real Estate Finance by The Mortgage Observer. In 2010, Mr. Sternlicht was named Executive of the Year and Investor of the Year by Commercial Property Executive. Mr. Sternlicht was also named America’s Best Lodging CEO by Institutional Investor Magazine. He is a member of the Interior Design Magazine Hall of Fame. He has received the Preston Robert Tisch Distinguished Industry Leadership Award from New York University, the CEO Diversity Award from Diversity Best Practices/Business Women’s Network, the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Association of Travel Marketing Executives, the Hospitality Heritage Award from the American Hotel and Lodging Association, and the Marketer of the Year Award from Brandweek. Mr. Sternlicht’s humanitarian efforts have garnered prestigious national honors such as JDRF’s Man of the Year, JDRF’s Living and Giving Award and JDRF’s Chairman’s Award.

    Mr. Sternlicht serves on the Board of Directors of The Estée Lauder Companies and the Real Estate Roundtable. Additionally, he serves on the Boards of The Robin Hood Foundation, the Dreamland Film & Performing Arts Center, and the Executive Advisory Board of Americans for the Arts. He is a member of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Foundation Trustee Council, the World Presidents Organization and the Urban Land Institute.

    Barry Sternlicht received his BA, magna cum laude, with honors from Brown University. He later earned an MBA with distinction from Harvard Business School.

    William Antholis

    Antholis

    William J. Antholis is Director and CEO at the Miller Center.  He has decades of government, non-profit, and academic experience.

    Antholis most recently served as managing director of the Brookings Institution, a non-profit research organization where he managed five research programs, more than 400 employees, four offices, and multiple university partnerships. While at Brookings, Antholis wrote numerous articles, essays and lectures, as well as two books. He is the author of Inside Out India and China: Local Politics Go Global and the co-author, with Brookings President Strobe Talbott, of Fast Forward: Ethics and Politics in the Age of Global Warming

    Previously, Antholis served as Director of Studies and as a Fellow at the German Marshall Fund of the United States, focusing on international trade and development issues. Earlier, he worked at the White House, where he was Director of International Economic Affairs of the National Security Council and the National Economic Council. His responsibilities included planning and negotiating for the 1997 and 1998 Group of Eight Summits. He also served as deputy director of the White House Climate Change Task Force and helped coordinate the Clinton administration team at the Kyoto and Buenos Aires negotiations of the United Nations Intergovernmental Convention on Climate Change. Antholis worked at the State Department on the policy planning staff and in the Bureau of Economic Affairs, where he was a member of the team responsible for developing responses to world financial crises. 

    Antholis earned a Ph.D. in politics from Yale University in 1994 and a B.A. with honors in government and foreign affairs from UVA in 1986. At Virginia, he was an Echols Scholar, Phi Beta Kappa, and his thesis in the Politics Honors Program (co-written with Stephen Grand, CLAS ‘86) won the Stevenson Award.  

    Scott Beardsley

    Scott C. Beardsley is the ninth dean of the University of Virginia Darden School of Business. He joined the Darden School as dean and Charles C. Abbott Professor of Business Administration 1 August 2015 after 26 years at McKinsey & Company, during which he held numerous senior roles, most recently as senior partner and, from 2011 to 2014, as an elected member of McKinsey's global board of directors.

    Beardsley was drawn to the Darden School's global focus, its unparalleled academic rigor and education experience, and the University of Virginia's Jeffersonian tradition of excellence. A values-driven leader, Beardsley is passionate about business education and Darden's mission to improve the world by developing and inspiring responsible leaders and advancing knowledge.

    A skilled leader in executive education and capability building, Beardsley is a global strategy and regulation expert, who has served leading clients in the telecom, technology, public, nonprofit and professional services arenas in places such as China, Latin America, the Middle East, Silicon Valley, Europe, India and Africa. He has a proven track record of impact, entrepreneurship, and innovation involving shared governance and private and public sector clients.

    Beardsley was based for 24 of his 26 years at McKinsey & Company in the firm's Brussels, Belgium, office. After joining in New York City in 1989, he was elected partner in 1995 and senior partner four and a half years later - putting him among the fastest to rise to senior partner.

    Before becoming Darden's dean, Beardsley led the talent development of McKinsey's more than 12,000 professionals and helped lead the launch of the technology-enabled-learning platform McKinsey Academy. He co-chaired the committees that elect partners and senior partners.

    Prior to that role, he led McKinsey's strategy practice as managing partner in Europe, the Middle East and Africa for seven years, guiding it through a period of strong growth and innovation. Working on the ground in more than 40 countries and using an impact-driven approach to improve shareholder value, he has advised top decision-makers and complex companies on areas such as: performance transformation, strategy, human capital, marketing, efficiency, alliances and mergers.

    Dean Beardsley has led major research efforts on topics such as technology trends, the knowledge economy, regulation, IT productivity, performance transformation and broadband. Through his research on business in society, he helped to incubate the McKinsey Climate Change Special Initiative, dealing with issues such as carbon abatement and sustainability. His current research interests focus on higher education leadership and leadership development architectures.

    A frequent author, speaker and media commentator, he has presented at venues such as the World Economic Forum at Davos. A passionate faculty member, he has previously lectured in the MBA program of the Belgian business school Institut d'Administration et de Gestion. He has also served on a number of boards, including eight years as chair of the board of directors of the American Chamber of Commerce in Belgium.

    In May 2015, Beardsley earned an executive doctorate in higher education management with distinction from the University of Pennsylvania. He holds an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Sloan School of Management, where he received highest honors as a Henry S. Dupont III Scholar and was elected to serve as editor and marketing manager of the MIT Sloan Management Review. He received a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering magna cum laude from Tufts University, where he was awarded highest honors as the Eastman Kodak Scholar, and was elected to the national engineering honor societies Tau Beta Pi and Eta Kappa Nu, as president.

    From a family of educators, Beardsley was born in Maine and grew up in Vermont and Alaska. He is a citizen of France and the United States and is bilingual in English and French. He resides in Charlottesville, Virginia, on the Lawn at the center of the University of Virginia's Academical Village, a UNESCO World Heritage site. He and his wife Claire Dufournet of Annecy, France, have three sons.

    Jerome Booth

    Dr Jerome Booth is a well-known economist, entrepreneur, investor, commentator and leading expert on emerging markets.

    He is Chairman of New Sparta Holdings Limited, through which he manages his more active investments, including controlling interests in a number of companies in asset management, insurance, telecoms, journalism, publishing and film. These include CBC UK, New Sparta Asset Management, New Sparta Events, New Call Telecom, WaveCrest, Nimbuzz, BNE Intellinews, Exaro News, Walpole Holdings, New Sparta Films, Icon Film Distribution UK and IO Entertainment.

    In 2013, Jerome retired from Ashmore Group, a world-leading emerging markets asset management group which he helped establish in 1999 in a Management Buy-Out from ANZ Bank. Prior to ANZ he worked in the Strategic Planning unit of the Inter-American Development Bank in Washington, D.C, and before that was a Lecturer in Economics at Christ Church, Oxford.  He has also been a consultant advising on aid and trade issues, and before that worked for Her Majesty’s Department of Trade and Industry.

    He has a weekly blog and one of the most widely listened to podcasts in Europe.  In 2014 he published his first book, Emerging Markets in an Upside Down World, challenging traditional finance theory and conventional economic wisdom. The Chairman of the Governing Board of Anglia Ruskin University and Visiting Professor at Cass Business School, Jerome has a D.Phil and an M.Phil in Economics from Oxford University as well as a B.Sc in Geography from Bristol University.  In 2008, Jerome was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Business Administration at Anglia Ruskin.

    He is also Chairman of the Fitzwilliam Museum Development Trust, Chairman of the Britten Sinfonia, a Vice President of Essex Community Foundation, and on the board of the Royal Philharmonic Society.

    David Dollar

    David Dollar is a Senior Fellow in the John L. Thornton China Center at the Brookings Institution.  From 2009 to 2013 Dollar was the U.S. Treasury’s Economic and Financial Emissary to China, based in Beijing, facilitating the macroeconomic and financial policy dialogue between the U.S. and China.  Prior to joining Treasury Dollar worked 20 years for the World Bank, serving as Country Director for China and Mongolia, based in Beijing (2004-2009).  His other World Bank assignments focused on Asian economies, including South Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Bangladesh, and India.  Dollar also worked in the World Bank’s research department.  His publications focus on economic reform in China, globalization, and economic growth.  He also taught economics at UCLA, during which time he spent a semester in Beijing at the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (1986).  He has a PhD in economics from New York University and a B.A. in Chinese history and language from Dartmouth College.  

    Kenneth Eades

    Professor of Business Administration Kenneth M. Eades teaches First Year and Second Year courses in the area of corporate finance for the fulltime program. He also teaches in the executive format programs (EMBA and GEMBA) as well as a number of Executive Education programs for practicing managers. Professor Eades has served as the faculty representative on Darden's Alumni Board and as a member of Darden's Board of Trustees. He has been head of the finance area since 1995 and currently holds the interim title of Academic Director of the Mayo Center for Asset Management. In 2014-15 he served as the chair of the Darden Dean Search Committee. Eades joined the Darden faculty in 1988 after holding faculty appointments at Purdue University, University of Michigan and Northwestern University. 

    Professor Eades' research focuses on corporate finance issues including cost of capital, mergers and acquisitions, capital investment analysis, defined benefit pensions and pricing of convertible securities. He has published a number of academic articles in the highest ranking academic journals including, The Journal of Finance and Journal of Financial Economics. He has also published practitioner based studies related to important financial decisions such as the analysis of capital investments and mergers and acquisitions. He is the author of more than 70 Darden cases, three textbooks and several computer tutorials. He has received awards for research and teaching, as well as an award for his case study writing. 

    In association with Darden's Institute for Business in Society (IBiS), Eades has served as the moderator of the Strategic CFO Roundtable since 2008. The Strategic CFO Roundtable is a quarterly, invitation only convening of leading chief financial officers in the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Area to discuss, debate and share best practices on enhancing the strategic role of the CFO. The Roundtable participants share their views on the challenges and opportunities facing their companies and discuss the lessons learned from triumphs and trials that led to their becoming recognized as strategic CFOs. After each roundtable event, IBiS publishes "Views from the C-Suite", which is written by Professor Eades and reports a synopsis of the topics discussed and the viewpoints expressed by the CFOs.

    Thomas Finke

    Tom Finke is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Babson Capital Management LLC, a position he has held since 2008. Mr. Finke has guided the growth of Babson Capital into a global investment management firm with more than $235 billion in assets under management and locations in U.S., Europe, Australia and Southeast Asia.

    Mr. Finke’s 28 year financial career has included roles in both the banking and investment industries. He joined Babson Capital in June 2002 when the firm acquired First Union Institution Debt Management, Inc. from Wachovia Corporation, a $3.6 billion high yield loan manager which he co-founded in 1998. Between December 2008 and May 2011, Mr. Finke also served as Executive Vice President and Chief Investment officer for the Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company, relinquishing these duties to focus on the expanding Babson Capital enterprise.

    Mr. Finke received an M.B.A. from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business and holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce. 

    Steven Goddard

    Stephen M. Goddard earned his B.A. in Economics (Distinguished) from Virginia Military Institute.  During his time there he was a member of Kappa Alpha and Omicron Delta Epilson honorary societies. He also was selected for Who’s Who of American Colleges and Universities.

    After graduation, he earned his Masters of Business degree from the University of Richmond and registered as a Chartered Financial Analyst. From 1985 to 1993, Goddard worked as a security analyst and portfolio manager for several financial institutions, before starting his own investment advisory firm, The London Company of Virginia in 1994. Since its inception, The London Company has grown into one of the largest investment advisory firms in the mid-Atlantic region with over $24 billion in assets under advisement (as of 3/31/2016).

    Mr. Goddard is also ranked as one of the top performing equity managers in the country for the past ten years. He currently is a board member of the Robins School of Business at the University of Richmond. He also serves as a member of the Virginia Military Institute Foundation Investment Committee and the Community Foundation Investment Committee. He currently lives in Richmond, Virginia with his wife, Cheryl Goddard, and two adult children, Anne Randolph Goddard and Stephen Goddard. 

    Gibboney Huske

    Gibboney Huske, CFA, is the Co-Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Skipjack Global Capital Management, a woman-owned hedge fund focused on global growth.  She was previously the Co-manager of the Clearbridge Global Growth Trust mutual fund from 2012 to 2015.  Ms. Huske worked for Legg Mason Capital Management (LMCM) as an Analyst and Portfolio Manager from 2005 to its assumption by Clearbridge in 2013.  She lead the Tech, Media, Telecom, and Internet team prior to leading efforts to globalize research and convert the former Growth Trust mutual fund from a U.S. to a Global Focus in 2012.  Her analytical responsibilities included coverage of software, hardware, I.T. services, health care I.T., airlines, Internet, and consumer.  Prior to LMCM, she was a sell-side analyst working for Credit Suisse covering the Software and Imaging sectors where she was ranked as an Institutional Investor All American Analyst.  She represented Credit Suisse in the creation of the Series 86 and 87 regulatory exams for sell-side analysts under the direction of the New York Stock Exchange.  Ms. Huske is a 1997 graduate of the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia and a 1991 graduate of the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia.

    Lawrence Kochard

    Lawrence Kochard is the Chief Executive Officer / Chief Investment Officer of UVIMCO. As Chief Executive Officer, Larry provides leadership for all aspects of UVIMCO’s operations and serves as UVIMCO’s primary representative to the University, related foundations and the public. As Chief Investment Officer, Larry is responsible for the investment management of UVIMCO’s Long Term Pool, overseeing the asset allocation, portfolio management, risk management and manager selection activities of the investment staff. 

    Prior to joining UVIMCO, Larry served as Chief Investment Officer at Georgetown University. From 2001 to 2004, he was Managing Director of Equity and Hedge Fund Investments for the Virginia Retirement System. From 1997 to 2004, he taught in the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia, first as an adjunct and later full time as an assistant professor. 

    Larry received his BA in Economics from the College of William & Mary, an MBA from the University of Rochester, and an MA and PhD in Economics from the University of Virginia. He is a CFA charter holder.

    Richard Mayo

    After receiving his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia in 1964, Mr. Mayo began his investment career with the First Union National Bank in Charlotte, N.C. He received his M.B.A. from the University of Virginia's Darden Graduate School of Management in 1968.

    After graduation, he was a security analyst for the Keystone Custodian Growth Fund. In 1969 he helped found Batterymarch Financial Management, where he served as a portfolio manager. In 1977, Mr. Mayo was a Founding Partner of the investment firm Grantham, Mayo, Van Otterloo & Co. LLC (GMO), and he was with GMO until he founded Mayo Capital Partners in January of 2002.

    Mr. Mayo is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Thomas Jefferson Foundation and is also on the Board of the University of Virginia Investment Management Company. He also serves on the Board of the Children’s Hospital Trust in Boston and is a member of its investment committee.

    Carl Ross

    Dr. Ross is engaged in research for GMO’s Emerging Country Debt team. Prior to joining GMO in 2014, he was a managing director at Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. where he covered emerging debt markets. Previously, he was the Senior Managing Director and Head of Emerging Markets Fixed Income Research at Bear Stearns & Co. Dr. Ross earned his BA in Economics from Mount Allison University as well as his M.A. and PhD in Economics from Georgetown University.

    Jason DeSena Trennert

    Mr. Trennert is the Managing Partner of Strategas Research Partners LLC and the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the firm's broker-dealer subsidiary, Strategas Securities, LLC. Mr. Trennert is known as one of Wall Street’s top thought leaders on the subject of markets and economic policy.  His research pieces are read by leading institutional investors and corporate executives across the globe.

    In 2006, Mr. Trennert co-founded Strategas, which originally began with just five employees. Today, the firm employs over forty-five research analysts, institutional salesmen, and sales traders at its offices in New York, Washington D.C., and Columbus, Ohio. Prior to founding Strategas, Mr. Trennert was the Chief Investment Strategist and a Senior Managing Director at International Strategy & Investment (ISI) Group where he built and oversaw two of that Firm's most popular research efforts, its Company Surveys and Investment Strategy groups.

    Widely quoted in the domestic and foreign press, Jason is a regular guest host on CNBC's "Squawk Box" and "Bloomberg Surveillance" with Tom Keene. He is the author of the popular investment book, New Markets, New Strategies, published in 2005 by McGraw Hill.  His upcoming book, My Side of the Street, was published in May 2015 by St. Martin’s Press.

    He was the Treasurer of La Scuola d’Italia where he built and oversaw its investment committee.  He is a member of the Board of Governors of The Columbus Citizens Foundation and a member of the investment committee of the Rockefeller Brothers Fund. 

    He has an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and BS in International Economics from Georgetown University.

    Don Wilkinson, III

    Mr. Wilkinson is Vice Chairman of Fiera Capital Inc..  Based in New York, NY, Fiera manages investment portfolios focused on long term growth for wealthy individuals and families, endowments and foundations.  As CIO, he is Chair of the Investment Committee and directs investment policy. 

    Mr. Wilkinson also researches companies for portfolio inclusion and manages global balanced, global equity, concentrated equity and domestic equity mandates.  Mr. Wilkinson is responsible for the day-to-day management and strategic direction of the firm.  He is also a member of the firm's Board of Directors.  He joined Wilkinson O’Grady, now Fiera Capital, in 1994 after working two years in the corporate finance and derivatives groups at Chase Manhattan Bank and four years in a retailing subsidiary of the CML Group.  Mr. Wilkinson is a member of the NYSSA and the CFA Institute. He received his BA from Washington and Lee University and his MBA from The Darden School of Business, University of Virginia.

    Timing and Schedule

    For your general planning purposes:  registration will open midday Thursday and the conference will begin at 1:30pm on Thursday, November 12 .

    Sessions continue until 6pm on Thursday when a reception will begin at Darden.

    Friday morning's continental breakfast begins at 7am, and the first presentation begins at 8am.

    Friday lunch and the optional Discovery lunch are at 12:20pm with adjournment thereafter.

    Directions to Darden

    From University of Virginia (Main Grounds)

    From University Avenue (US-250 Business) turn right onto North Emmet Street (US-29 Business). Continue on North Emmet Street for .4 miles and turn left onto Massie Road at the first stoplight. Follow Massie Road for .6 miles and at the second stoplight turn right to continue on Massie Road. The entrance to the Darden School of Business will be on the left at Duffy Boulevard. Estimated time: 7 minutes.

    From Charlottesville Albemarle Airport (CHO)

    Follow Airport Road straight out of the airport to U.S. Route 29 South. When U.S. Route 29 passes under the U.S. 250 Bypass in Charlottesville, it becomes Emmet Street and passes the Barracks Road Shopping Center on the right. Beyond the shopping center, turn right at the traffic signal for Arlington Boulevard. Turn left when Arlington Boulevard ends at Massie Road.     From Richmond International Airport (RIC)

    Travel Interstate 64 West to Charlottesville and take Exit 118B onto U.S. Route 29 North. Stay on the Route 29 Bypass and take the Leonard Sandridge Road exit. Turn left at the traffic light at the end of the ramp. The Darden School's entrance is on the left, just past the North Grounds Recreation Center. Estimated travel time: 1.5 hours.

    From Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD)

    At the first exit after leaving the airport, take State Route 28 South to Centerville and then take Interstate 66 West to U.S. Route 29 South at the Gainesville/Warrenton exit. Follow Route 29 South to Charlottesville. When U.S. 29 passes under the U.S. 250 Bypass in Charlottesville, it becomes Emmet Street and passes the Barracks Road Shopping Center on the right. Beyond the shopping center, turn right at the traffic signal for Arlington Boulevard. Turn left when Arlington Boulevard ends at Massie Road. The Darden School's entrance is on the right, just past the Law School. Estimated travel time: 2 hours.

    From Washington National Airport (DCA)

    Follow signs to Interstate 66 West and continue to U.S. Route 29 South at the Gainesville/Warrenton exit. (This will be the second U.S. 29 exit.) Follow Route 29 South to Charlottesville. When U.S. 29 passes under the U.S. 250 Bypass in Charlottesville, it becomes Emmet Street, and passes the Barracks Road Shopping Center on the right. Beyond the shopping center, turn right at the traffic signal for Arlington Boulevard. Turn left when Arlington Boulevard ends at Massie Road. The Darden School's entrance is on the right, just past the Law School. Estimated travel time: 2.5 hours.

    Free parking permits will be available on the day of your visit from the receptionist in the Gatehouse. The Gatehouse will be on your right after you turn into Darden off of Massie Road. Please watch for signs. Parking spots will be available on the road leading to the school as well as in Darden’s parking garage.
