Counseling

The Armstrong Center for Alumni Career Services offers one-on-one career counseling to all Darden MBA, MBA for Executives and PhD programs.  Counseling sessions may take place in person, on the phone or via Skype.  Our team of career counselors are all Darden alumni and draw on diverse and deep business experience.

We can help develop a powerful resume and LinkedIn profile to support your search.  We can also assist you in figuring out what's next, developing a job search strategy, negotiating employment terms, understanding severance agreements, developing a career plan and thinking through most any career issue.  Most sessions are one hour in length, but vary depending on the topic and your needs. 

It's free!  There is never a charge for the Armstrong Centers' counseling services.

Connie EnglishConnie Dato English, Director of Alumni Career Services (Darden MBA '91)
Connie joined ACS in 2001, bringing experience as a consultant and recruiter at Booz Allen Hamilton, a strategic business planner with PepsiCo, Inc.’s corporate headquarters and as human resources manager for J.M. Huber Corporation in its Wood Products Division. Connie received her B.S. from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and her MBA from Darden in '91. She has assisted well over 1000 alumni spanning all classes and backgrounds. Additionally she has become a world-renowned expert in helping alumni re-enter the workforce after an extended hiatus.

Marty SpeightMarty Speight, Associate Director of Alumni Career Services (Darden MBA '96)
Before Marty joined the ACS counseling team, she had consulted with Darden’s Career Development Center assisting students and managing projects. Marty’s impressive career in general management and operations included stints with Coca-Cola and several start-ups in the software industry. She ran a large division of iXL, a global internet services firm, and worked on implementing supply chain software solutions with clients in a variety of industries. Marty obtained her B.S. in Industrial Relations at UNC-Chapel Hill before pursuing her MBA at Darden. 
  

Buddy LeTourneau, Alumni Career Services Career Consultant (Darden MBA '73)
Buddy draws from his executive recruiting and broad management experience in financial services to advise alumni in job search. Buddy also operates, a retained search practice from Mooresville, NC. Previously, he ran two large recruiting offices, sourcing and delivering talent for banking, utility, retail, general services, manufacturing and not-for-profit clients. His core career included 21 years rising to executive roles in banking. Buddy received his BA in Economics from Washington & Lee and his MBA from Darden in ’73.

Katie joined Alumni Career Services in May of 2011. Katie manages our office and is the webmaster for ACS. She is often the first point  contact for our office and can help you navigate the ACS website, schedule your first career counseling appointment and help you access any of the services we offer. Katie received her B.S. in Business Marketing at Elizabethtown College, as well as, her MBA at Mount St. Mary's University. Contact Katie.
