National Women Business Owners Corporation – A national 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, established to increase competition for corporate and government contracts through implementation of a pioneering economic development strategy for women business owners.  Provides a national certification program for women-owned businesses called "Woman Business Enterprise" (WBE) Certification that certifies a private, for-profit company is truly owned and controlled by a woman or women.

National Minority Business Council, Inc. – Dedicated to helping small, minority and women owned businesses.  Services include contract procurement and RFP announcements, financing assistance, initial public offering (IPO) service, education and training, SBA (8a) certification program, business development assistance, consulting and needs assessments, purchasing exchanges and networking events, newsletters and special bulletins.

The U.S. Small Business Administration provides a variety of resources for small businesses, including the Office of Women's Business Ownership Entrepreneurial Development, which provides business training, technical assistance, and access to credit and capital, federal contracts and international trade opportunities to promote the growth of women-owned businesses.  Also provides access to a nationwide network of mentoring roundtables, women's local business centers, and women-owned venture capital companies. The site also provides additional Resources for Women and Free Online Courses for entrepreneurs.

Women’s Business Enterprise National Council – Largest third-party certifier of businesses owned and operated by women in the United States. Also MatchMaker Meetings, executive scholarships, educational programs, workshops, and more.

Women Entrepreneur – The online version of Entrepreneur Magazine, but for women entrepreneurs.

Women’s Media – A collection of useful articles on many different aspects of self employment.
