Laurence G. Mueller joined the Darden School of Business Faculty in 1993.
- He is the Executive Director of the Center for Global Initiatives, where he oversees the work of the center including acting as Ambassador for the School overseas and shepherding strategic international initiatives such as partner relations with international MBA programs, Global Business Experiences for students, and membership on the Dean’s Global Advisory Council.
- He is the Assistant Dean for the Global MBA for Executives, leading Darden’s newest MBA program that focuses the MBA education in Global venues: engaging international alumni and both corporate and institutional partners.
- He is also the Director of Financial Aid for the Darden School of Business. His Financial Aid responsibilities include full-time MBA, MBA for Executives and the Global MBA for Executives Programs. He acts in the role of chief financial analyst for the Committee on Financial Aid at the University of Virginia; he also serves on the Student Information Systems Steering Committee for Student Financial Services and on the Provost’s Ad Hoc Committee on Graduate and Professional Schools.
Mueller has acted as a consultant to Marriott Hotels, Singapore Airlines, Singapore’s Service Quality Centre, and Citigroup. From 1989 – 1991, he was Senior Catering Services Operation Manager for Marriott Hotels, and local chairman of the Service Quality Committee.
Mueller received his Ph.D. in Management and Administration from the University of Virginia, MBA from the Darden School of Business, and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Virginia. Mueller currently serves as the Faculty Advisor to the Virginia Gentlemen, an Academic Advisor for the University of Virginia’s College of Arts and Science, Faculty Fellow to Brown Residential College, faculty advisor to Darden Christian Fellowship, and development advisor to the Virginia Glee Club and the Virginia Glee Club Alumni and Friends Association.
