• January 1: The FAFSA and UVA Financial Aid Application (UFAA) become available to file online

May

• May 31: Recommended date to have completed the financial aid application process

June

• Mid-June: Financial aid award notifications begin to be made available in the SIS: there is no physical financial aid letter sent; students are notified via their University of Virginia email address when their package is available

July

• Fall semester bills are made available in the SIS: there is no physical bill sent; students are notified via their University of Virginia email address when a bill is generated

• July 31: Recommended date to have finalized accepting/declining the financial aid package in order to have financial aid lined up in time for the bill due date

August

• Fall semester bills are typically due a week prior to the first day of classes; fall semester loans and scholarships will disburse to students' accounts on this date

• Loan refunds for travel expenses are mailed (or direct-deposited if set up in time) within 10 business days after the bill due date
