EMBA International Leadership Residency

EMBA Shanghai 2013For your third (of four) leadership residencies, you will spend a week studying outside of the United States to broaden your understanding of leadership in an emerging economy.

Most recently, the Darden EMBA program visited China, partnering with the Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business (CKGSB). Being on the ground in China gives you the opportunity to experience first-hand Chinese business practices and cultures. The week includes class sessions conducted by CKGSB faculty (recent topics have included: globalization of Chinese companies; China’s economic growth model; business strategy; and understanding China’s financial markets). You will also visit Chinese and U.S.-multinational companies in Beijing and Shanghai and experience a host of leadership speakers and cultural immersion events.

International ResidencyIn addition to the academic takeaways, the experience of traveling together with your executive MBA cohort deepens your relationships with one another and with the faculty and builds an even tighter and more integrative EMBA community.

  • An MBA With a Convenient Schedule

    Asilia Dinkins

"I chose Darden not only for its academics but also for its convenient schedule. Typically we come down for a residency on a Thursday, Friday and Saturday. What I love about this is that it’s only one Saturday away from my family so it affords me the opportunity to go to my children’s sports or school events, while still being able to fulfill my dream of achieving an MBA." - Asilia Dinkins, EMBA Class of 2014
