For your third (of four) leadership residencies, you will take a week-long trip outside of the United States to broaden your understanding of leadership in an emerging economy.
Most recently, the Darden EMBA program visited China, partnering with the Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business (CKGSB). Being on the ground in China gives students the opportunity to experience first-hand Chinese business practices and cultures. The week includes class sessions conducted by CKGSB faculty (recent topics have included: globalization of Chinese companies; China’s economic growth model; business strategy; and understanding China’s financial markets). Students visit Chinese and U.S.-multinational companies in Beijing and Shanghai and experience a host of leadership speakers and cultural immersion events.
In addition to the academic takeaways, the experience of traveling together with your executive MBA cohort deepens your relationships with one another and with the faculty and builds an even tighter and more integrative EMBA community.
