Connie Whittaker Dunlop is a Lecturer and Associate Director of Career Education and Advising at the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia. She teaches Darden’s Professional Advancement Course in the MBA for Executives and Global MBA for Executives Programs. She leads the Job Search Launch, a 12-step intensive multi-media seminar that equips students with the knowledge and skills they need to establish career goals and affect career change in today’s dynamic economy. She advises MBA students on career development topics, including creating marketing plans, writing cover letters and resumes, and preparing for interviews.
Connie’s intellectual interests center on career strategy and case interviewing. She developed a robust and proven methodology that supports executives in establishing a career goal and executing a plan to achieve it. She authored a case, Alan Diaz, and co-authored another, Daryl Brewster, for Darden’s Professional Advancement Course. She presented Coaching Executive MBAs and Alumni on the Case Interview Process for both the MBA Career Services for Working Professionals Alliance Conference and the Executive MBA Council Conference.
Prior to joining Darden in 2007, Connie solved complex business problems for global diversified financial services firms. As a Group Manager of Human Resources with Capital One, she led high profile, cross-functional change management initiatives. As a Senior Consultant, then Manager, with Deloitte’s Strategy and Operations Practice, she created business unit strategies and improved service operations. With Deloitte, she engaged in the MBA recruiting process, delivering behavioral and case interviews to candidates from top-tier business schools.
