Biography
Visiting
Professor of Business Administration Laurence C. Franklin has 25 years of
diverse experience in financial services as an equity investor, investment
banker, commercial banker, corporate in-house and bank in-house lawyer. He has
lived and worked in Asia for 20 years, holding senior positions at Hutchison
Whampoa, AIG and First Chicago Bank. He has been a consultant to many
multinational companies for their Asian businesses.
Franklin is visiting
Darden from Hong Kong University of Science & Technology (HKUST), where he
is adjunct professor of finance and law. He has taught in MBA and EMBA programs
around the world, including at Stanford University, University of Chicago, MIT,
Kellogg-HKUST, Manchester (U.K.) and Chinese University of Hong Kong. Franklin
has won several Excellence in Teaching awards.
