Mark White is an associate professor at the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce, where he teaches courses in corporate finance and sustainable business practices. At the University, he is engaged in a number of multidisciplinary and collaborative research projects, including efforts to model the environmental and financial impacts of algae biofuel production and the UVA Bay Game, an interactive simulation of the Chesapeake Bay watershed. In addition to his positions at UVA, he holds a visiting professorship in environmental economics at the Technische Universität Dresden and served as Academic Dean for the University of Virginia’s Semester at Sea program in Spring 2010, which had “sustainability” as its voyage theme.
