BiographyMeftehe (Mef) Shebi is an Assistant Director of Career Education and Advising at the University of Virginia's Darden School of Business. Before joining Darden's Career Development Center in 2012, Mef worked at Grant Thornton as a Program Management Consultant advising the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the U.S. Senate Committee on Finance, and the U.S. Department of the Treasury. Mef also worked as a Management Consultant with Accenture, serving clients as diverse as the AES Corporation, AmerisourceBergen, and the Internal Revenue Service.
Mef spent two years on the Faculty of Informatics at Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia and has extensive experience working with the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees. In recent years, he has also co-founded Creative Capacities International, an effort to promote arts-based youth skill development in India, Haiti, Jamaica, and other countries.
Mef earned a B.S. in Systems Engineering and Mathematics from the University of Virginia in 2008 and a M.Ed. in International Education Policy from Harvard University in 2012.
Outside of work, Mef enjoys adventuring in new places, playing soccer on sunny afternoons, and spending quality time with family and friends.
