Biography

Visiting Professor Robert I. Webb teaches in the Finance area at Darden and at the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce. His research focuses on speculative markets, trading and incentive economics. He is the co-author of several books and has written numerous academic papers. He is the editor of the Journal of Futures Markets, an academic finance journal that specializes in articles on derivative securities and markets.

Webb has taught at Darden since 1994. He traded fixed income securities for the World Bank. He traded stock index futures as a "local" on the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. He served as senior financial economist at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, the Executive Office of the President, Office of Management and Budget and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. He previously taught at the University of Southern California.
