Biography
Associate Dean for Faculty and Sponsors Professor of Business Administration James R. Freeland teaches in the Operations area at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business. He has served in the dean's office as associate dean for faculty since 1993. He is involved in all faculty issues related to recruiting, hiring, development and faculty engagement.
Freeland is the author of numerous technical and managerial papers in operations management and management science and has consulted with many companies on operations topics. Before coming to Darden in 1979, Freeland taught at the Stanford Graduate School of Business and the Georgia Institute of Technology.
