Biography
As one of the newest faculty members at Darden, Mir Salim joins the Global Economies and Markets (GEM) area in Fall 2010. His general research interests are in the empirical economics of development. In particular, he studies microfinance, the strategic interactions of for-profits and not-for-profits, and the objectives of not-for-profits. Mir's ongoing work (in Peru, India and Bangladesh) applies the techniques of both field experiments and structural estimation in order to study markets at the bottom of the pyramid.
Mir comes to Darden straight from graduate school at Yale.
