Professor Jack Weber is an emeritus member of the faculty of the Darden Graduate School of Business at the University of Virginia where he taught courses in personal & executive leadership, and organizational transformation, strategy & change for over 30 years. During his tenure, Jack also served as director of the executive education policy committee, and as course head of the leadership & organizational behavior area in the graduate degree programs.
Dr. Weber also served as co-architect (with visiting professor Dr. Carol Weber) of numerous innovative, Darden residential executive development programs, including, Leadership for Extraordinary Performance and Creating the Future: The Challenge of Transformational Leadership (which was rated by the Financial Times as the #1 Senior Management Program in the world), and senior executive leadership programs for Intel Corporation, United Technologies, and Capital One. Working with other Darden colleagues, Weber designed & delivered top management programs including MCR, The Executive Program, and residential programs for several multinational corporations & professional services firms.
Jack Weber’s other academic credits include posts at the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and the International Management Development Institute (IMD) in Lausanne, Switzerland. He is the author of two books, numerous articles and case studies, and served as an associate editor of the Journal of International Leadership Education.
Prior to his current career in education, Weber held engineering design & leadership positions with the IBM Corporation and other technology companies. He was educated at Yale (physics), the University of Miami (electrical engineering & computer science), and the University of California at Berkeley where his doctoral studies in operations research & group dynamics led him to focus on the leadership challenges of implementing mathematical models in technology companies, and to his interdisciplinary Ph.D.
As a management consultant, Dr. Weber’s clients have included C-suite executives and leadership teams of dozens of global companies in banking and financial services, technology, computing & telecommunications, chemicals & packaging, consumer & food products, health care, and several smaller growth companies committed to building cultures of leaders.
Jack is passionate about his friendships & life’s work with Carol; and to skiing, learning tai chi & qigong, and practicing and teaching hatha yoga.
