- December 19: Round 1 merit scholarship decisions are mailed to recipients
January
- January 1: The FAFSA becomes available to file online
February
- February 28: Round 1 deposit deadline
March
- The University of Virginia Financial Aid Application (UFAA) becomes available in the SIS to students who have accepted their offers of admission
- March 20: Round 2 merit scholarship decisions are mailed to recipients
May
- May 1: Round 2 deposit deadline
- May 8: Round 3 merit scholarship decisions are mailed to recipients
June
- June 6: Round 3 deposit deadline
- Mid-June: Financial aid award notifications begin to be made available in the SIS: there is no physical financial aid letter sent; students are notified via their University of Virginia email address when their package is available

Fall semester bills are made available in the SIS: there is no physical bill sent; students are notified via their University of Virginia email address when a bill is generated

July 31: Recommended date to have finalized accepting/declining the financial aid package in order to have financial aid lined up in time for the bill due date
August

August 1: Students should update their current mailing address in the SIS to begin receiving mail from the University at their local Charlottesville addresses

Fall semester bills are typically due a week prior to the first day of Orientation (this date typically corresponds with the first day of International Student Orientation); fall semester loans and scholarships will disburse to students' accounts on this date

Loan refunds for living expenses are mailed to students' current mailing addresses in SIS (or direct-deposited if set up in time) within 10 business days after the bill due date
