About Us

The mission of DABO is to contribute to the learning environment and diversity at Darden by serving as a medium for students and faculty to learn more about African business, economies, politics and culture.  

In addition, we aim to build a robust community of people interested in Africa (within UVA and the Charlottesville/D.C. region) as a rich resource for current Darden students, alumni, prospective students and the community.  

DABO members are from all over the world: Africa, the United States, South America, Asia etc. All are welcome to join! 

What We Do

DABO holds events that address the African business climate, food, fashion and films. 

Specifically, we:

•  Organize conferences, speaker series and other events
•  Help prospective students learn about and apply to Darden
•  Provide an avenue for alumni to contribute to Darden and the continent in general
•  Have fun!
