Darden Capital Management

Darden @ Virginia Investing Challenge

Darden Capital Management is excited to announce the second annual Darden @ Virginia Investing Challenge (DVIC). Our stock pitch competition is held in conjunction with the prestigious University of Virginia Investing Conference (UVIC).  DVIC brings together fifteen teams of students from top MBA programs to compete for a cash prize of $3,000.

The challenge selects a key theme for the conference to frame each school's stock pitch, and competing teams have the opportunity to present their pitches in front of judges from the investment management industry.  This competition provides an ideal training ground for MBA students interested in the investment management profession because it gives students the opportunity to practice their stock pitching skills and provides a forum for recruitment and knowledge sharing, particularly as UVIC brings together nearly 600 investment professionals, recruiters, and students each year.

Congratulations to our 2012 DVIC winner, The University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business.

We look forward to seeing you at this year’s DVIC conference.

UVIC is scheduled for November 14th and 15th, 2013. DVIC will be held on November 14th.

The theme for this year’s challenge is: Investing is currently affected by many uncertain macroeconomic factors, including a changing regulatory environment, political indecisiveness and an energy renaissance in the United States.  Both the energy and technology sectors have lagged the overall market over the past year, despite innovations across both sectors.

Please choose an energy or technology stock that you believe will perform well despite the ever-changing investment landscape.
