Dear Prospective Students,
Darden Capital Management (DCM) is a student-run organization that seeks to prepare students for careers in portfolio management, equity research, hedge funds, sales and trading, private wealth management, and other financial fields. Members receive real world experience by actively managing four investment funds for UVA's endowment worth ~$8 million. Each fund has four fund managers who are solely responsible for making all investment decisions for that fund. You do not need a finance background to be a fund manager, but a genuine interest in investing and the financial markets. DCM seeks to provide the necessary resources and tools for students to manage the fund.
DCM sponsors presentations from leading investment professionals and workshops to enhance the learning experience. Additionally, the club maintains strong relationships with professionals in the investment community and the alumni network. Fund managers meet with Darden's trustees twice a year to present their performance and provide commentary on their learning experience. Eight members are selected each year to attend the Berkshire Hathaway meeting in Omaha, Nebraska.
Please feel free to contact any of the DCM fund managers with any additional questions.
