Volunteer Opportunities

Darden/UVA Mentorship Program

Every year, the University Career Services office, which serves the career needs of UVA’s undergraduate population, partners with Darden to organize a mentorship program for UVA undergraduates.  It’s a great opportunity to share your work, internship and MBA experiences with undergrads and help them shape their decisions as they think about entering the work force and MBA programs. You will be paired with one, perhaps two, 3rd and 4th year undergraduate students who are interested in receiving personalized coaching from Darden students.  Topics and activities might include career development, job searches, mock interviews, resume feedback and/or advice about MBA programs and applications.  We will match students based on career interests and background.  Please contact Mason Antrim at AntrimM11@darden.virginia.edu for more details.

Tutoring at Venable Elementary in Charlottesville

Darden Outreach is partnering with Venable Elementary School to kick off a tutoring program for the Fall and needs an hour of your time each week. Not only does it give you a chance to get out of the Darden bubble but also the satisfaction of knowing that you made a difference in a kid’s life. We had an overwhelming response last year and are looking forward to another great year! If interested, please sign up using the Venable volunteers doc or contact Gaurav Garg or Atish Dipankar.

Other events may include

  • group discussion forums on topics in education
  • field trips to public, charter, and private schools
  • opportunity to volunteer at local high schools
  • Darden Business Projects in Education (joint with Curry school)
  • establishing a Junior Achievement program in Charlottesville
  • service event with Greer Elementary in Albemarle County
