Recognizing that there is both a critical mass of interest among Darden students and a need for business acumen in the field of education, several students at the Darden School of Business founded the Education Club at Darden in 2007.
As business leaders, citizens and current or future parents, we are in a position to drive change in education. Whether it be founding a charter school, starting an educational software company, working as an administrator in an independent school or being on a school board, the education sector needs cooperation from the business world as well as leadership and managerial talent to transform the sector to meet the demands of an evolving economy.
The Education Club strives to generate energy, passion, appreciation and focus around the education industry by presenting career pathways for business students interested in education, raising awareness of education issues among future business leaders and promoting mutually beneficial opportunities with the Curry School of Education and Albemarle/Charlottesville organizations, such as public schools and the Darden/Curry Partnership for Leadership in Education (PLE).
