Residency Information
For veterans who have resided in Virginia for less than one year prior to enrollment, yet seek in-state status- current state law provides a waiver of the one-year waiting period to apply for in-state residency. Once veterans establish any other forms of proof of Virginia residency, they may apply for in-state status. For information about Virginia residency requirements, and/or to apply for in-state status, veterans should visit the University of Virginia's Office of Virginia Status website and specify their veterans consideration status on the In-State Privileges Form.
