Larry Kochard - UVIMCO (CEO)
Lawrence Kochard is the Chief Executive Officer / Chief Investment Officer of UVIMCO. As Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Kochard provides leadership for all aspects of UVIMCO's operations and serves as UVIMCO's primary representative to the University, related foundations and the public. As Chief Investment Officer, Mr. Kochard is responsible for the investment management of UVIMCO's Long Term Pool, overseeing the asset allocation, portfolio management, risk management and manager selection activities of the investment staff.
Prior to joining UVIMCO, Mr. Kochard served as Chief Investment Officer at Georgetown University. From 2001 to 2004, he was Managing Director of Equity and Hedge Fund Investments for the Virginia Retirement System. From 1997 to 2000, he taught in the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia, first as an adjunct and later full time as an assistant professor.
Mr. Kochard received his BA in Economics from the College of William & Mary, an MBA from the University of Rochester, and an MA and PhD in Economics from the University of Virginia. He is a CFA charterholder.
Greg Turk - Teachers' Retirement System of the State of Illinois (Director of Investments)
As Director of Investments, Mr. Turk oversees public and private market investments at the Teachers' Retirement System of the State of Illinois (TRS) with the exclusion of real estate. Assets under management at TRS total $38 billion, with private market investments at roughly a third of the total portfolio. In his role as Director of Investments, he has been active across the portfolio redefining asset allocation objectives which have specifically manifested two new asset classes at TRS, absolute return and real return. His role within the organization also contributes significantly toward total fund and asset class risk management functions.
Prior to joining TRS, Mr. Turk was employed by the CFA Institute within the Centre for Financial Market Integrity. He also has undertaken positions within the investment banking and investment management industries.
Mr. Turk is a CFA charterholder and holds a Masters in Business Administration from the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Virginia. He received a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Banking from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign.
Chason Beggerow - Altius Associate (Partner)
Chason Beggerow is a Partner on the Investment Team at Altius Associates. He is primarily responsible for leading the firm's Secondary investing efforts. Mr. Beggerow joined Altius in 2007, and has 17 years of private equity and real assets experience. Prior to joining Altius, Mr. Beggerow was Director of Business Development at Tredegar Corporation, and Chief Financial Officer at Soane Labs LLP. He also served as Vice President at Harris Williams & Co after beginning his career at Nationsbank (now Bank of America).
Mr. Beggerow holds a Master of Management from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, and a BS in Commerce from the University of Virginia.
Brian Farmer - Hirschler Fleischer (Treasurer & Business Section Chairman)
Brian Farmer is Chairman of the Business Section at Hirschler Fleischer and leads the firm's Investment Management & Private Funds Practice Group. Mr. Farmer's practice focuses on the investment management industry. He works with both institutional investors and investment managers. Mr. Farmer spends a significant portion of his time advising on customized investment arrangements between institutional investors and private equity fund managers, including secondaries, co-invests, separately-managed account relationships and seed investor transactions.

Brian Mooney - Cogent Partners (Managing Director)
Brian Mooney is Managing Director in Cogent Partners' Dallas office and has over 10 years of secondary market experience. Prior to co-founding Cogent Partners, Mr. Mooney was part of the investment team at The Crossroads Group (now part of NB Private Equity Partners / Neuberger Berman) where he focused on secondary acquisitions as well as primary and equity co-investments.

Dan Mulderry - Paul Capital (Partner)
Dan Mulderry is a Partner at Paul Capital and joined the firm in 2000. His responsibilities include the sourcing, analysis, negotiation and closing of secondary private equity transactions. Biff Pusey is a Partner in the investment funds at JoycePayne Partners. As Vice President of Family Office Services and Non-Traditional Investments, Mr. Pusey works with successful families and directs non-traditional investment strategies. John Loverro - Lexington Partners (Principal)
John G. Loverro is a Principal of Lexington Partners primarily engaged in the origination, evaluation and management of equity co-investments. Prior to joining Lexington in 2005, Mr. Loverro was a vice president in investment banking at JPMorgan and prior to that he was a portfolio manager at PIMCO / Oppenheimer Capital and InverMexico.

Robert McGrail - DUMAC (Director of Legal Affairs)
Robert E. McGrail is the Director of Legal Affairs at DUMAC, a professionally-staffed investment organization controlled by Duke University.

Bruce Miller - Investure (Managing Director)

Chris Stringer - Private Advisors (Partner)
Christopher Stringer is a Partner at Private Advisors. He is responsible for primary private equity strategy and industry research, manager sourcing and due diligence, manager selection and portfolio construction, and monitoring of small company fund managers. Prior to joining Private Advisors, Mr. Stringer was a Vice President at Jefferson Capital Partners, Ltd., a boutique merchant bank with a focus on the healthcare, consumer and business services industries. Richard Berkeley - Camden Partners (Managing Member)
Richard Berkeley is a Senior Partner and joined Camden Partners in 2002. Prior to joining Camden, he spent 19 years with Alex Brown & Sons, Incorporated and its successor organizations, Bankers Trust Corporation and Deutsche Bank Securities, Inc. Mr. Berkeley focuses on investments in the business and financial services, health care and education markets for the firm. Previously, Mr. Berkeley was Managing Director and Global Head of the Equity Private Placements Group at Deutsche Bank Securities, Inc., where he was responsible for the origination, structuring, and consummation of private equity financings for private and public companies. During his tenure, Mr. Berkeley and his team members completed more than 135 private equity financings for private and public companies.

John Fruehwirth - Rotunda Capital (Managing Partner)
John formed Rotunda Capital Partners in 2008 to invest growth equity into leading, middle market companies. RCP has completed five investments in its three core industries (Specialty Finance, Logistics & Distribution and Business Services). RCP operates as an independent sponsor and raises capital from its network of high net worth individuals, corporate executives and family offices. RCP has offices in Bethesda, MD and Chicago, IL.
Since 1998, John has worked on almost $1 billion in aggregate investments in over 30 companies including five control transactions and over 35 junior capital investments. Prior to Rotunda, he was the Deputy Head of Private Finance at Allied Capital Corporation which managed over $4 billion that was invested in over 100 portfolio companies. He served on the Management, Investment and Portfolio Management committees and was Co-Head of the firm's Operating Committee.

Phil Clough is a Managing General Partner at ABS Capital Partners. He also oversees the firm's business and education services investment efforts. Prior to joining ABS Capital in 2001, Mr. Clough was the president and CEO of SITEL Corporation. From 1990 to 1997, he was in the Investment Banking Group at Alex. Brown & Sons Incorporated, leading their business services efforts, where he advised clients on M&A transactions as well as equity and debt offerings. Peter Del Presto - Adj. Professor of Finance, University of Pittsburgh/Former General Partner of PNC Equity Partners
Peter has been a faculty member at the University of Pittsburgh's Katz School of Business since his retirement from PNC Equity Partners in 2010. Peter teaches courses in Capital Market Efficiency, Valuation and Acquisition of Privately-held Companies. He is a 2011-12 recipient of the school's Excellence in Teaching Award. He has also served as a guest lecturer at Carnegie Mellon University and the Darden School.
Prior to entering his career in teaching, Peter was a General Partner of PNC Equity Partners from 1985 to 2010. During his tenure at PNC, investment assets grew from $8 million to well over $2 billion. Peter was the lead investor in more than 35 growth equity and leveraged buyout transactions and was a member of the investment committee for nearly 200 additional transactions. During his tenure, Peter was a director on the boards of 24 of PNC's portfolio companies.
Peter is the controlling shareholder in two manufacturing companies, Rochester Shoe Tree Corporation, a manufacturer of shoe care products and accessories and Porcelain Industries, the country's largest independent porcelain coating business.
Peter received his BS in Pre-professional Studies from the University of Notre Dame('72), an ME in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Virginia('76) and an MBA from the Darden School('85). He is also a past president of the Pittsburgh Venture Capital Association.
Henry Hager - KKR (Principal)
Henry C. Hager joined KKR in 2011 and is a member of the Client and Partner Group. He has been involved in the Firm's global capital raising activities and currently works as a product specialist focused on energy and infrastructure. Prior to joining KKR, he was with Constellation Energy in its Corporate Strategy and Development group, where he was involved in a number of merger, acquisition, and other corporate advisory transactions. Previously, Mr. Hager served in advisory positions at the White House and the U.S. Department of Commerce, working directly with the Secretary of Commerce on the energy and economic policy.

John Harris - Former CFO of The Carlyle Group
John served as the Chief Financial Officer and Senior Advisor for The Carlyle Group, a global private equity firm based in Washington, D.C. from 1997 to 2011. Among his responsibilities, John assisted Carlyle in raising tens of billions of capital for its private equity funds.
John is as a member of the Board of Managers of the University of Virginia Alumni Association and a Trustee of The Jefferson Trust. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the Virginia Film Festival and serves on the local Chi Phi Fraternity Alumni Board and chairs the chapter's scholarship fund. John's community and charitable service includes serving as a board member of The Boys and Girls Club of Central Virginia and past Chairman of the Board of the Barker Foundation.
John is a native Virginian, and a 1982 graduate of the McIntire School of Commerce of the University of Virginia.
He is married to Amy Bowler Harris (Comm '82) and they have two children, Caroline and James. The Harris family resides in the Ivy area of Charlottesville.
Alex Whittemore - Summit Partners (Partner)
Alexander D. Whittemore joined Summit Partners in 2007. Mr Whittemore works in Summit's Boston office and is responsible for leading the firm's capital markets activities, both for existing portfolio companies and for new acquisitions, and for helping the firm manage its commercial and investment banking relationships. He sits on the Investment Committee for the Summit Capital Partners Credit Fund.
Prior to Summit, Mr. Whittemore worked for Morgan Stanley, where he founded the Boston office of the Financial Sponsors Group. He was also previously employed for Chase Manhattan Corporation and Chemical Banking Corporation.
