Born and raised in the northern most state of India, I went onto study engineering about 1600 miles away from home. I graduated from National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK) in 2006 with an undergraduate degree in Information Technology. At NITK, in addition to internalizing the computer science concepts, I transformed from an Indian classical singer into a head-banging rock-star of the college’s music band. After college, I joined Goldman Sachs in their technology division. Based out of Bangalore, I designed, developed and managed technology applications used for Goldman’s hedge funds services businesses. The amazing business and international exposure, challenging work, and opportunity to work with and lead some of the smartest minds in the industry were reasons enough for me to stick around for five years. I came back to school to develop a more nuanced understanding of how businesses are started, run and grown. I intend to transition into a business strategy consulting role to allow me to expand my expertise across industries. Darden, with its relentless case method pedagogy and formidable faculty, offers me an ideal platform to learn business skills required to make this transition smoothly.
I’m fascinated by history and read history books for fun. I also follow domestic and international politics very closely. And of course like most Indians, I am addicted to the game of cricket and compulsively check the ‘score’ every 5 minutes when India is playing. I also enjoy music in all forms.
