Britt is a dual degree (JD/MBA) student with an expected date of graduation of May 2013. After masquerading as a member of the Darden Class of 2011 for a year, she’s currently enrolled as a 1L at Virginia Law (though she tries to spend as much time as possible at Darden). Born in Connecticut and raised in Delaware, she graduated magna cum laude from Brown University with a degree in sociology in 2007. Prior to coming to the University of Virginia and Darden, Britt worked for a mid-sized civil litigation firm in Delaware and in the in-house legal department of a top-tier management consulting firm in Boston, where her responsibilities covered areas ranging from corporate governance and conflicts management to conducting ethics and professional standards training for consulting managers. Over the last summer, Britt interned with a Charlottesville-based biotechnology start-up, focusing on business development and market entry strategy.

Britt’s decision to pursue degrees in both law and business is directly related to her firm belief that it is essential to always understand the legal/regulatory environment in which business is conducted or the business context of a legal problem. Britt also strongly suspects that, during her dual application process, her former manager (a UVa School of Law alumna) and a partner with whom she frequently worked (a Darden alumnus) planted a tape in her apartment that repeated “UVA….UVA….UVA…” over and over again while she slept.

In her limited free time, Britt enjoys cooking, baking and entertaining, exploring Charlottesville, and reading for fun. She is also involved in the law school community as an Admissions volunteer, a member of the National Trial Advocacy Team, and a member of the executive board of the Virginia Law Wine Society.
