Born and raised in New York, Karina graduated from Manhattan College in 2002 and completed a Masters in Social Work at Columbia University in 2006. After an amazing and rewarding five years working at a New York City charter school, Karina came to Darden to transition to a brand or general management role.

Immediately upon arriving on Grounds for her first visit to Darden, Karina felt sure that she had found the right “fit.” Her favorite things at Darden include the case study method, her learning team, First Coffee, Cold Call, and learning about her very diverse classmates. She looks forward to participating in the Global Business Exchange at Darden.

Karina is one of three siblings, and is among the oldest of over 50 cousins. Born to Dominican parents, Karina speaks Spanish and enjoys listening and dancing to Latin music. She enjoys exploring Charlottesville, spending time with her husband and new friends, volunteering in the community, dancing and eating delicious food.
