Yumiko is a member of the Darden Class of 2012. Prior to business school, she worked in Unilever Philippines for 5 years, starting out as a management trainee in a rotational leadership program. Her last post was as finance manager for the food service business of Unilever in Philippines/Vietnam/Southeast Asia. A CPA by profession, she graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Accountancy at De La Salle University - Manila where she also pursued her passion in writing as editor of the official student publication.

Working with diverse and multi-cultural teams in Southeast Asia, Yumiko’s cultural curiosity, love for diversity, pursuit to progress, and commitment to further knowledge led her to get a top MBA in one of the biggest economies in the world. Darden’s commitment to practical learning through the case study method and its tight-knit community won her over.

When she’s not busy balancing debits and credits and analyzing financial statements, Yumiko spends her time balancing kitchen scales. She loves cooking for friends and family, mostly re-creating dishes she tried and liked from restaurants. She also tries to offset the food trips with a bit of sports and recreation such as tennis, running, photography, and TV/DVD marathons.
