Innovation is critical to the success of businesses and organizations. From technology and product development, to organic growth, entrepreneurship and sustainable business practice, innovation is about engaging employees at every level to think creatively about the design of powerful futures.
To help facilitate teaching innovation, strategic thinking and design, the Darden School of Business recently opened an Innovation Lab, or “i.Lab.” The i.Lab provides experiential, team-based and collaborative learning opportunities and includes a design-based studio where students can transform concepts and ideas into physical prototypes. Its structure allows faculty to engage students around core skills essential to innovative business thinkers, and it serves as a physical complement to a new academic discipline offered at Darden in innovation-intensive design.
