The mission of the Darden School is to improve society by developing leaders in the world of practical affairs. Darden engages with a number of outside constituents to review that mission annually and to gain input and perspectives on our strategies to achieve progress in meeting our mission. The Corporate Advisory Board (CAB) is a constituent group of business professionals that brings a “corporate” point of view to the Darden leadership.
The CAB’s purpose is to engage Darden’s corporate and institutional partners in an ongoing effort to strengthen Darden's position as a leader in management education. Areas of particular interest are 1) the MBA pipeline – the flow of students coming to Darden, the professional development that occurs while at Darden, and contributions graduates can make to their employers, 2) management development needs and continuous learning of companies’ leadership; and 3) the challenges corporations are anticipating that will affect how they lead and staff their organizations.
The CAB is composed of senior executives who represent companies that have an existing relationship with Darden through recruiting or executive education. The Board is co-chaired by the Associate Dean of MBA Education and the Director of Career Development, and its members also include selected members of Darden’s faculty and senior staff, including the Director of Admissions and the Director of Strategic Planning.
