"A finalist or winning business in this competition defines Resilience – the ability to bend but not break, to weather the storm and come out stronger for it, to thrive in the face of adversity. We believe that there are many more businesses like these are the Commonwealth and hope to have the opportunity to share their stories as well."
-- Professor Gregory B. Fairchild
The Resilience Awards is a unique competition that highlights and supports strong, resilient businesses in some of Virginia’s most economically-challenged communities. Beating the odds, these businesses bring hope and jobs to their cities and regions, while facing obstacles that might discourage less enterprising companies. If you are leading a business in Virginia in a community highlighted by the Resilience Awards, we hope you consider entering the competition and sharing your story. If you know a resilient business, please recommend it to us.
The Tayloe Murphy Resilience Awards Competition salutes and supports winning businesses with:
- Statewide publicity
- Introductions to lenders, investors and others in Virginia's business community
- Immersion in a free, week-long Darden School of Business Executive Education program course
Applications for the 2013 competition are being accepted at www.resilienceawards.org.
