In the inaugural year of the Tayloe Murphy Resilience Awards competition, 106 main-street businesses from across the Commonwealth of Virginia shared their stories of resilience and commitment to community. Of these 106, 12 finalists were selected based on their demonstrated success. Commenting on the finalists, Gregory B. Fairchild noted that “We at the Darden School of Business are pleased to learn about these incredible companies and their leaders and be able to share their stories with the Commonwealth. Their growth rates are substantial and impressive, with an average annual profit growth rate of 189% and employment growth rate of 54% from 2005 through 2008.”
A dozen finalists were selected from over 100 applicants for the 2010 Tayloe Murphy Resilience Awards. Read the press release about these 12 firms.
