Greg Fairchild is executive director of the Tayloe Murphy Center and Associate Professor of Business Administration at the Darden School of Business. As Executive Director, Fairchild provides the overall strategic vision for the Center and oversees all of its activities. After attending college at Virginia Commonwealth University, he went on to earn an MBA from the Darden School and an M.Phil. and Ph.D. from Columbia University.

Fairchild teaches strategic management, entrepreneurship and ethics in Darden’s MBA and executive education courses. His empirical and practical research attempts to answer challenging questions about how firms create value, especially in settings that might otherwise be overlooked. Fairchild’s work has been funded by leading organizations including the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. He was named a Faculty Pioneer by the Aspen Institute in 2009, one of five leading research professors by the Financial Times in 2010, and one of the "top 25 people to watch" by Virginia Business in 2011.
