Presidential Scholarships

Darden's Madison and Monroe scholarships are distinguished scholarships named for U.S. Founding Fathers James Madison and James Monroe.

Madison, the fourth president of the United States, was a great political theorist and author of the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights. Madison Scholars at Darden will be of the highest academic quality and may share in Madison's interests in the intersection of business and government.

Monroe, the fifth president of the United States, was actively engaged as a diplomat before his presidency and was focused on globalization throughout his presidency. Monroe Scholars will bring global perspective and experience to Darden.

If admitted, students will be evaluated for the Madison and Monroe scholarships, which are competitively awarded based on a variety of metrics and considerations.
