In November 2017, Darden Capital Management hosted the sixth annual Darden @ Virginia Investing Challenge (DVIC). Our stock pitch competition is held in conjunction with the prestigious University of Virginia Investing Conference (UVIC). DVIC brought together twelve teams of students from top MBA programs and across Grounds to compete for a cash prize of $3,000. The 2017 champion team consists of Aditya Bindra, Anna Venetianer, and Donny Waymire, of the UVA McIntire School of Commerce. The challenge selects a key theme for the conference to frame each school's stock pitch, and competing teams have the opportunity to present their pitches in front of judges from the investment management industry. This competition provides an ideal training ground for MBA students interested in the investment management profession because it gives students the opportunity to practice their stock pitching skills and provides a forum for recruitment and knowledge sharing, particularly as UVIC brings together nearly 500 investment professionals, recruiters, and students each year.Listen to a WSJ podcast featuring an interview with the 2016 winning team, the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
