Alumni - Reunion
Reunion
The health and safety of our alumni, faculty, staff and students is foremost in our minds. Given this, we will not be hosting any in-person gatherings this spring. Reunion 2021 (19–24 April) will be held in a fully virtual format. We are focusing on bringing some of your favorite elements to our virtual Reunion — time with your classmates, access to our world-class faculty and updates on the School.

Reunion Giving
Reunion giving allows classes to align philanthropy to impact the future of the School and honor its legacy of excellence.
Reunion-year alumni are asked to make a gift or multi-year pledge to the Darden Annual Fund. The Darden Annual Fund serves as the foundation for reunion giving and provides critical support that enables the School to remain innovative, invest in top strategic priorities and respond nimbly to emerging opportunities.
Many alumni also consider major gifts to Darden and planned gifts, such as bequests or annuities, to the area most meaningful to them. If you would like to speak with a member of the Advancement team about your reunion gift, please contact Darden Reunion Giving at +1-434-924-0706.
Whether you support Darden at the $100, $10,000 or $1 million-plus level, every gift counts and every gift matters. The full amount of any commitment made before 30 June 2021 will be recognized as part of your class giving total.
We look forward to celebrating reunion giving impact!
FAQ
-
How did Darden come to the decision to cancel in-person events for April 2021?
We were hopeful that we would be able to gather in person this year. However, in light of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and following the Center for Disease Control's guidance regarding limiting travel and in-person event, the UVA Alumni Association made the decision to hold Reunions 2021 in a virtual format, and Darden will follow suit with Darden Reunion Weekend. The health and safety of our community is of the utmost importance. We are excited about the opportunity to engage more people than ever before through a virtual experience!
-
Why can't Darden postpone to next April or for later this year?
Unfortunately, we are not equipped to host three sets of reunion year classes (60 percent of our alumni base) at the same time next April. Additionally, there is considerable uncertainty regarding life on Grounds next fall. We didn't want to continue to postpone this important milestone for our alumni without a clear indication of a time when it will be safe to gather on Grounds. You may read more on UVA's Coronavirus Information website and Darden's Return to Grounds website for updates.
-
What can I expect from a virtual reunion?
The Office of Engagement is hard at work planning events that will bring the best parts of reunion weekend to a virtual setting — time to reconnect with your classmates, access to favorite professors and updates on the School. We will offer events the week of 19–24 April through a variety of platforms, so you'll have many opportunities to engage with Darden. You can look for updates in your email and on our website.
-
When will my next in-person reunion be held?
For those with classes ending in a 0 or 5, your next reunion will be in April 2025. For classes ending in a 1 or 6, your next reunion will be in April 2026. We will determine the exact dates well in advance so you will have ample time to make plans to attend.
-
Will there be any class-specific events?
Yes! Each class will have its own Zoom call to reconnect with classmates. For larger groups, we will utilize breakout rooms to connect by section or affinity groups. Please check your class page for details on your class-specific events.
-
How will my philanthropic support of Darden count toward my class reunion giving total?
Darden Reunion Giving recognizes all contributions made to the School between 1 July 2020 and 30 June 2021. Many alumni choose to mark this milestone year by making a gift or multi-year pledge to the Darden Annual Fund, major gifts to Darden and planned gifts, such as bequests or annuities.
Whether you support your class giving effort at the $100, $10,000 or $1 million-plus level, every gift counts and every gift matters. The full amount of any commitment will be recognized as part of your class giving total. We look forward to celebrating your impact at the April 2021 reunion!
If you would like to speak with a member of the Advancement team about your reunion gift, please contact Darden Reunion Giving at +1-434-924-0706.
